HEALTH CARE COST SAVINGS NOW AT CAMELBACK WOMEN'S HEALTH.....

Camelback Women's Health is initiating a bold new initiative in Women's Health Care for the community that we serve.

In an environment of ever increasing health care costs and in the age of the internet, where the consumer should be empowered to research both the quality of their health care and the costs of these services.

We are offering inclusive services for preventative health and outpatient surgical services that will focus on keeping the costs of these services reasonable and affordable, while yet maintaining the quality that one should expect from Camelback Women's Health.

Since our inception, we have offered an Obstetric global package that has included all doctors' visits, including delivery, laboratories and ultrasound. The community has received this package with overwhelming popularity, since the costs of the services are defined and kept reasonable.

With the popularity of Health Savings Accounts and Health Reimbursement Accounts increasing both with employers and consumers, we are making an effort to keep the cost of preventative healthcare and elective surgeries reasonable to those patients that either choose these accounts through their employer or who presently are not insured.

Increasingly, medical insurance plans are shifting the responsibility of preventative health and other procedural healthcare to the consumer through higher co-pays, co-insurance and deductibles.

We hope that with upfront and straightforward explanation of the costs of these services, we too will become less dependent on traditional insurance carriers for reimbursement. We hope that cost certainty will be equally well received with the community we serve.

We intend to pass on our discounts through medical laboratories, radiology offices and outpatient surgical facilities to our patients. In return for this upfront approach, we intend to reduce the paperwork, phone calls, collection processes and disputes involved in filing medical claims.

We can only afford to offer these services by keeping administrative costs down. All services will require full payment at the time of service.

Laproscopic tubal ligation is intended as permanent birth control for women.

ESSURE tubal occlusion procedure can be done IN THE OFFICE

The traditional procedure involves being put to sleep in the operating room for approximately 30-40 minutes, during which a very small video camera is inserted in through the umbilicus (belly button) and a second very small incision is made just above the pubic bone. The fallopian tubes are burned briefly. Two small band-aid incisions will be made, which heal within one week. You will return home one hour after your surgery.

Patients intending to work should expect 3-4 days off to fully recover. The failure rate of tubal ligation is reported to be 2-7 patients out of a 1000. Ovarian function and periods will remain the same after the procedure.

Laparoscopic Removal of an Ovary or a Fallopian Tube
This surgical package is intended for patients that have already been determined to need this particular surgery and where the surgeon has determined that the surgery is likely feasible by laparoscopy. When cancer is suspected, laparoscopic surgery is not indicated. At the time of laparoscopy, conversion to more traditional open surgery is possible based on surgical experience and admission to Good Samaritan Hospital for post operative care would result in additional hospital fees, not included in this package. Surgical pathology fees are included in this package. Preop laboratories and blood products are not included in this package.

Patients intending to work should expect a minimum of one week off to fully recover.

Laparscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy
Fee includes surgeon and assistant surgeon.

Laparscopic supracervical hysterectomy patients must be carefully selected for feasibility. Factors considered include the patients overall health condition, patient weight, size of the uterus (and ovaries) and previous surgical history. The surgery normally involves 3 2-inch incisions and requires and overnight observation at Phoenix Surgicenter. Conversion to an open traditional hysterectomy will occur in best circumstances in 10-15% of cases and would require a 3-4 hospital stay at Good Samaritan. This would involve additional hospital charges not included in this package.

Patients intending to work should expect 2-3 weeks of work to fully recover. Discomfort will last 3-4 days, but fatigue will be a consideration for at least 2 weeks.
