PRP is an injection of the patient’s own platelets into the scalp. Growth factors in the platelets stimulate the regrowth and thickening of hair follicles by renewing the blood supply and supplying the proper nutrients to help regenerate and replace receding hair.
A small amount of blood is drawn from a vein in the arm. The vial is then placed in a centrifuge and rapidly spun down to separate the platelet rich plasma from the red blood cells and plasma.
